Dr. Brigitte Blazys, Executive Director
Brigitte Blazys, Ph.D. has a passion for advancing youth in their development in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. She takes a holistic approach to setting the mission and vision, while building strong relationships with the Board of Directors and staff. She is a visionary and strategic thoughtful leader, who always has the students best interest in mind.
Brigitte began her career as a teacher and earned her B.S. in Child Development. She earned her M.A. in Nonprofit Leadership and Management at the University of San Diego, while working as the Executive Director of a preschool. Brigitte was a Director for the Del Mar Union School District and obtained her certificate in Leadership Coaching, Restorative Justice, and Ph.D. in Leadership Studies. Working in the field of education is Brigitte’s passion and she is eager to support all the staff and students at Wahupa.
Roberto Saldana, ETS Program & Impact Director
Robert is driven to supporting underrepresented populations and increasing accessibility to quality level community services. His commitment to uplifting marginalized community members is demonstrated through his work with local healthcare, research, and education institutions. A San Diego native, Robert has a mission to implement meaningful changes within his community and hopes to inspire others to do the same.
Robert received his Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Chemistry from UCSD. While in college Robert became a TRiO student, which marked his journey into student support services. TRiO helped Robert become the first person in his family to graduate from college, which motivated him to pursue his Master's of Public Health at SDSU.
Robert aims to lead a team of passionate change-makers who will help local students to feel supported, represented, and inspired to believe in themselves, leaving the lasting impression that anything is possible!
